Yes. The number we quote is the number you pay. We don't add line items at the end, charge for stairs or narrow hallways, or inflate hours. The only variable outside your hourly rate is DDT — see below.
DDT is a California law that requires all licensed movers to bill the drive time between your origin and destination at double your hourly rate. It applies to every licensed mover in the state, not just us. We explain it before you book so there are no surprises on your invoice.
No. We don't add fees for any of those. Ever.

Yes. Active military, veterans, first responders, AAA members, and Costco members receive a 5% discount on residential moves. Just mention it when you book.
You Pack, We Move is for customers who prefer to handle their own packing — we load, drive, and deliver. We Pack, We Move covers everything: packing, all materials, loading, transport, placement, assembly, and no additional fees for overtime, truck, or fuel. Full details on the packages page.
No. With We Pack, We Move, what you see is what you get. With You Pack, We Move, packing materials are billed separately if needed — we'll tell you upfront. The only other variable is DDT, which we explain before you book.
Process
As soon as you have a date. Most moves book out weeks in advance — the sooner you reach out, the more flexibility you'll have on timing.
Label your boxes, make sure access is clear at both addresses, and let us know about any building-specific requirements (freight elevator windows, parking permits, HOA rules) when you book. We'll plan around them.
Yes — it reduces weight and the risk of damage to both the dresser and its contents during transit.
We'll confirm a window when you book. Our crew shows up on time — if anything changes, we'll call you.
It depends on the size of your home and how much needs to be moved. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we scope the job.
Service types
Never. Every mover on your job is a Rocket employee. Most of our crew has been with us five years or more. No third parties, no surprises about who's carrying your stuff.
No. Our crew is compensated for the job. They won't ask, hint, or calculate what you “owe” them before carrying the last box off the truck. If you want to tip because they earned it, that's between you and them — but it's never expected and never requested.
Yes. The We Pack, We Move package covers everything — we bring all materials, pack your whole place, load it, transport it, and place everything at your new address.
Yes. White glove service is the right choice for those moves — custom packing, careful handling, and a crew that treats your stuff like it's irreplaceable. Because it is.
